Mr. Ahsan Anwar, Executive Vice President of National Engineering Services Pakistan Pvt. Limited (NESPAK), has assumed the charge of Acting Managing Director of NESPAK. The Board of Directors of NESPAK, in its 187th Board Meeting held on 10 July 2026, approved the appointment of Mr. Ahsan Anwar as the Acting Managing Director of NESPAK.

Mr. Ahsan Anwar brings to the position more than 35 years of distinguished professional experience in engineering, project management, corporate governance, human resource management, business development, and organizational leadership. Throughout his career, he has played a pivotal role in strengthening NESPAK's institutional framework, promoting good governance, and enhancing operational excellence across the organization.

A graduate in Civil Engineering from the University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Lahore, Mr. Anwar also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of the Punjab and a Diploma in Human Resource Management from the Pakistan Institute of Management. He has also received specialized training in Construction Project Management in Japan under the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

During his long association with NESPAK, Mr. Anwar has held several key leadership positions, including Executive Vice President/Head Corporate Affairs, Vice President/Head Coordination Division, General Manager/Head Overseas Division, and General Manager/Head Coordination Division. He has successfully supervised major national and international infrastructure projects covering highways, bridges, irrigation systems, buildings, and World Bank- and Asian Development Bank-funded assignments. His contributions to overseas business development have also helped strengthen NESPAK's presence across the Middle East and other international markets.

Ms. Maryam Nawaz, Chief Minister of the Punjab, inaugurated the newly constructed Underpass at Mall Road, Rawalpindi, along with a flyover at Adyala Road on July 7, 2025. The 1-kilometre-long Mall Road Underpass, located at GPO Chowk and TM Chowk, is expected to benefit approximately 180,000 vehicles daily. This landmark project has effectively resolved the long-standing problem of severe traffic congestion in the city. Similarly, the flyover on Adyala Road, with an approximate length of 600 metres, has been constructed to address persistent traffic bottlenecks at another key junction. The new infrastructure has enhanced overall connectivity, reduced travel times, and provided much-needed relief to residents and daily commuters. The Chief Minister lauded the dedicated efforts of the entire project team for completing the works in less than four months. The project was undertaken by the Communication and Works Department, Government of the Punjab, in collaboration with NESPAK, which provided comprehensive design and supervision services.

NESPAK Karachi Office is undertaking the Feasibility Study and Master Plan of Lyari under the Lyari Transformation Project (LTP). The feasibility study has been recently completed. A high-level meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chairman Pakistan Peoples' Party, Mr. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, during which NESPAK presented the findings of the study. The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Sindh, Syed Asif Hyder Shah; Sindh Minister for Local Government, Mr. Saeed Ghani; Mr. Jamil Soomro; Mr. Javed Nagori; Mr. Junaid Jeedi; Project Director LTP, Mr. Faheem Chachhar; and Mr. Hammad N.D. Khan, Municipal Commissioner Lyari. NESPAK was represented by Mr. Syed Munawar Abbas, General Manager/Head Karachi, Mr. Rehan Zamin, General Manager Infrastructure; and Mr. Syed Ali Sher Shah, Project Manager, who jointly delivered a comprehensive presentation on the study outcomes. Mr. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari appreciated NESPAK's efforts and emphasized that the needs of Lyari's growing population must be prioritized in the project's planning and design. He directed that Lyari should be fully solarized and that the Peoples' Bus Service should be extended to the inner areas of the locality. Following the meeting, the Government of Sindh (GoS) requested NESPAK to undertake the detailed design phase of the project. The scope of work includes the complete rehabilitation and up-gradation of essential infrastructure systems.

NESPAK participated in the Transport Expo 2025, held on September 4-5 at the Expo Centre, Lahore, by setting up an exhibition stall showcasing its landmark projects in Mass Transit, Civil Aviation, and Railways. The stall drew significant attention from the Senior Minister, Minister for Transport & Mass Transit, Chief Secretary Punjab, and other distinguished visitors, who appreciated NESPAK's vital contributions to Pakistan's transport infrastructure.

Mr. Mohsin Naqvi, the Federal Minister for Interior, along with Mr. Ali Raza Naqvi, Inspector General of Police Islamabad, visited the under-construction National Police Hospital in Sector H-11, Islamabad, on July 19, 2025. During the visit, Mr. Mukhtar Arshad, General Manager NESPAK Islamabad and Project Manager, briefed the Minister on the project's scope, progress, and quality assurance measures. The Minister lauded the NESPAK team for maintaining high standards and steady progress, and directed for completion of the project by December - ahead of the originally scheduled timeline. NESPAK is providing detailed design and construction supervision services for this landmark healthcare project.

NESPAK has been ranked for the fifth consecutive year on ENR (Engineering News-Record) Magazine Top International/Global Construction Management/Program Management Firms list, published as part of the ENR Top International/Global Contractors feature in the August 2023 issue of ENR, a US-based ranking magazine. The ranking has been published in the latest issue of the magazine and NESPAK has been ranked 19 this year among the top 20 Non-US firms in total global construction management and program management. NESPAK was envisioned by its founders as an organisation free from foreign dependence and capable of delivering the highest quality in the field of engineering consultancy. It was envisaged as an institution which had to lead the consultancy market of Pakistan and compete abroad with excellence. Time has proved that NESPAK has succeeded in fulfilling its objectives to a large extent owing to the unprecedented struggle offered by its professional brigade who left no stone unturned to achieve their stated aims.

Punjab Chief Minister Ms. Maryam Nawaz Sharif inaugurated the landmark Marqa-e-Haq Square on May 10, 2026, marking the successful completion of the project in a record 179 days. The project has established a signal-free corridor from Iftikhar Janjua Chowk to Jinnah Park Chowk via Katchery Chowk, significantly improving traffic mobility in Rawalpindi.

The project comprises grade-separated facilities at three major intersections, including an underpass at Iftikhar Janjua Chowk, a flyover/underpass at Katchery Chowk, and a grade-separated facility at Jinnah Park Chowk. Designed to accommodate approximately 250,000 vehicles daily, the corridor is expected to substantially reduce travel time, traffic congestion, and vehicle operating costs.

Executed by the Communication & Works Department, Government of the Punjab, the project was delivered with engineering consultancy and resident supervision by NESPAK's Highways & Transportation Engineering Division. The project was completed at an estimated cost of Rs. 21 billion.

A delegation from the World Bank visited the Karachi Mobility Project - Yellow Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Corridor to review construction progress and assess the implementation of one of Pakistan's largest urban transport initiatives.

The US$650 million project is being implemented by the Government of Sindh through the Sindh Mass Transit Authority (SMTA) and the Transport and Mass Transit Department (TMTD) with financial assistance from the World Bank. NESPAK, in joint venture with DAR Al-Handasah, is serving as the design and construction supervision consultant.

The visiting delegation was briefed on key design features, construction activities, engineering solutions, and implementation progress across the corridor. The delegation appreciated the quality of work and technical standards being maintained and emphasized timely completion of the ongoing construction packages.

A Board of Management (BoM) meeting for the Diamer Basha Dam Project was held in Islamabad, bringing together senior representatives of WAPDA, NESPAK, and the Diamer Basha Consultants Group (DBCG) to review project progress and discuss key implementation priorities.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Kaukab Hussain Bhatti, the then Acting Managing Director NESPAK; Mr. Abdul Nasir, Head of the Geotechnical & Geo-Environmental Division; senior officials of WAPDA; and representatives of the DBCG joint venture.

The Diamer Basha Dam, located on the River Indus near Chilas, is one of Pakistan's largest hydropower and water storage projects. The project comprises a 272-metre-high Roller Compacted Concrete (RCC) dam, with a gross storage capacity of 8.10 million acre-feet (MAF) and an installed hydropower generation capacity of 4,500 MW.

Consultancy services are being provided by DBCG, led by NESPAK in association with Mott MacDonald, MMP Pakistan, MWH (Stantec), AFRY, and DOLSAR, while WAPDA serves as the executing agency.

Senior leadership of NESPAK and the Mohmand Dam Consultants Group (MDCG) conducted a comprehensive review of progress on the strategically important Mohmand Dam Project during a Board of Management (BoM) site visit.

The delegation included Mr. Kaukab Hussain Bhatti, the then Acting Managing Director NESPAK; Mr. Abdul Nasir, Head of the Geotechnical & Geo-Environmental Division; the Chief Executive Officer of MDCG Consultants; and members of the consultant team.

During the visit, project consultants briefed the Board on ongoing construction activities, recent milestones, implementation progress, and preparations for upcoming phases of work. Discussions focused on physical and financial progress, quality assurance, environmental compliance, construction safety, and adherence to the approved project schedule.

The Mohmand Dam, being developed by WAPDA on the Swat River, is one of Pakistan's most significant multipurpose infrastructure projects. Upon completion, it will enhance water storage capacity, hydropower generation, irrigation supplies, flood mitigation, and socio-economic development across the region.

NESPAK has been entrusted by the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) to provide engineering consultancy services for the planning, detailed design and construction supervision of NADRA buildings at various locations across Pakistan.

The consultancy agreement between NADRA and NESPAK was signed on April 27, 2026. Under the agreement, NESPAK will undertake master planning, surveys, investigations, detailed architectural and engineering design, and construction supervision services for approximately 43 development projects, with the scope extendable based on future requirements.

The proposed projects involve plot sizes ranging from 8 marlas to 320 marlas, with individual building areas varying from approximately 1,900 sq. ft. to 90,000 sq. ft. The combined covered area of the proposed developments is estimated at around 350,000 sq. ft. Mr. Qaisar Abbas Bashir, Chief Engineer, Islamabad Office, has been designated as the Project Manager for this assignment.

Following the successful completion of the integrated master planning, surveys, and detailed design of the Data Darbar Expansion and Development Project, Architecture & Planning Lahore Division has secured another prestigious assignment by winning the consultancy for resident construction supervision of the project.

Construction activities are progressing rapidly on the Data Darbar Redevelopment Project and the Bhatti Chowk Underpass, two landmark urban infrastructure initiatives aimed at improving traffic circulation and enhancing the historic core of Lahore.

During a recent site visit, Mr. Tahir Farooq, Director General, Lahore Development Authority (LDA), accompanied by Mr. Zeeshan Malik, Adviser to the Chief Minister, reviewed the pace and quality of ongoing works. Tile installation and landscaping are nearing completion at the Data Darbar Piazza, while construction continues around the clock on both ramps of the Bhatti Chowk Underpass.

NESPAK's Construction Management Division is providing comprehensive engineering consultancy, detailed design, construction supervision, and technical support throughout project execution. Mr. Kaukab Hussain Bhatti, the then Acting Managing Director NESPAK, also visited the Data Darbar Extension Project on June 25, 2026, to review progress and assess readiness ahead of the Annual Ghusl ceremony preceding the Urs of Hazrat Data Ganj Bakhsh (R.A.).

NESPAK has successfully completed the 500 kV Suki Kinari Transmission Line Project. Building on this achievement, NESPAK is currently providing design review and construction supervision services for the 500 kV transmission line extending approximately 83 km from the Suki Kinari Transmission Line interconnection point at Sangal to the Maira Switching Station.

The transmission line will facilitate efficient power evacuation from the Suki Kinari, Kohala, and Mahl Hydropower Projects. The project has been divided into three contract lots, with construction already underway on two lots. NESPAK's team is actively supervising the ongoing construction works, ensuring compliance with the highest standards of quality, safety, and engineering excellence.

NESPAK continues to play a pivotal role in strengthening Pakistan's power transmission infrastructure by providing construction supervision services for Lot-I: New 220/132 kV Mirpurkhas Substation and extension works at the 220 kV Hala Road Substation, and Lot-II: New 220/132 kV Zhob Substation and extension works at the 220 kV D.I. Khan Substation under Tranche-II of the Asian Development Bank (ADB)-financed Power Transmission Enhancement Investment Program.

Under Lot-I, construction of the 220/132 kV Mirpurkhas Substation and extension works at the 220 kV Hala Road Substation are in the final stages. Civil works and equipment installation have been substantially completed, while testing and commissioning activities are progressing steadily.

Construction of the 220/132 kV Zhob Substation under Lot-II is also advancing well, with erection, testing, and commissioning works currently underway. Upon completion, both projects will significantly enhance the regional transmission network, improve grid reliability, and support a more stable power supply.

On April 28, 2026, Mr. Altaf Hussain, Managing Director, National Grid Company (NGC), accompanied by senior officials, visited the 220/132 kV Mirpurkhas Substation to review the project's progress. The NESPAK Project Manager briefed the delegation on key milestones and achievements.

In a significant step towards digital transformation in highway construction, a high-level delegation visited the Sultan Said Bin Taimur Road (Dualization of Adam-Thumrait Road Part-04) project on May 20, 2026, to witness the official launch and live demonstration of Artificial Intelligence (AI)-Enabled Asphalt Paving Technology introduced by the contractor, M/s Galfar Engineering & Contracting SAOG.

The event was held under the patronage of H.E. Dr. Said bin Mohammed Al Saqri, Economic Advisor to the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, and H.E. Khamis bin Mohammed Al Shammakhi, Undersecretary of MTCIT, along with senior officials from the Ministry, the Governorate of Dhofar, and representatives of NESPAK and the contractor.

The AI-enabled paving system has been introduced to improve paving precision, enhance quality control, optimize construction efficiency, and enable real-time monitoring of asphalt paving operations. Participants observed its capabilities in monitoring temperature consistency, controlling layer thickness, improving pavement smoothness, and optimizing paving parameters through automated digital systems.

A high-level delegation from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, accompanied by senior officials of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology (MTCIT), Sultanate of Oman, visited the Sultan Said Bin Taimur Road Project on May 18, 2026, to review progress on the dualization of the Adam-Thumrait Road (Parts 03, 04 and 05).

The delegation was received by Mr. Asif Mehmood, Regional Manager, NESPAK Oman Office, along with the Resident Engineer, project supervision team, and representatives of the contractor.

During the visit, the delegation was briefed on the project's scope, engineering design, construction methodologies, quality assurance measures, and implementation progress. Discussions covered pavement works, earthworks, drainage structures, bridges, wadi crossings, traffic safety measures, and construction sequencing.

The delegation also reviewed the engineering challenges encountered during implementation and the technical solutions adopted to ensure compliance with project specifications, international standards, and contractual requirements.

NESPAK is playing a pivotal role in the implementation of the Government of the Punjab's flagship initiative for the construction of Sahulat Bazaars and Sahulat on the Go (SOTG) facilities across the province by providing comprehensive resident construction supervision services.

The consultancy assignment spans a two-year implementation period and encompasses construction supervision to ensure quality workmanship, adherence to approved designs, and timely completion of all project components.

The project is being led by Mr. Imran Ahmed Khan, Chief Engineer, Architecture & Planning Lahore Division, supported by a multidisciplinary team of engineers, architects, and technical professionals committed to maintaining the highest standards of project execution.

Significant progress has already been achieved, with construction of 27 Sahulat Bazaars across various districts substantially completed. Simultaneously, work is progressing rapidly at 40 Sahulat on the Go (SOTG) sites in accordance with approved schedules.

Looking ahead, the Client plans to commence construction of more than 50 additional Sahulat Bazaars during the current financial year, with the objective of completing nearly two-thirds of the planned 105 bazaars under the programme.

NESPAK has achieved another significant milestone with the execution of Amendment No. 3 to the Consultancy Services Contract for the Balochistan Water Resources Development Sector Project (BWRDSP), following formal approval by the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

The amendment was formally signed at NESPAK House, Lahore, between the General Manager/Head, Water & Agriculture Division, and the Project Director, BWRDSP, Government of Balochistan.

In a landmark achievement for Pakistan's cultural and security infrastructure, the Expansion of the Joint Check Post (JCP) Wagha has been successfully completed in record time. The inauguration ceremony, held on August 14, 2025, was graced by Corps Commander Lahore, Lieutenant General Fayaz Hussain Shah, and Director General Rangers Punjab, Major General Atif bin Akram. Designed and supervised by NESPAK, the project was completed within an unprecedented 12-month timeframe through continuous 24/7 operations. With a total cost of Rs. 2,850 million, the expansion has increased the spectator capacity from 500 to 25,000, catering to the growing number of visitors. The main entrance gate now rises to an impressive height of 104 feet, with a 45-foot arch, making it the tallest ceremonial gateway in the world. The overall structure reaches 185 feet, representing a remarkable feat of design and engineering. A 135-meter-high flagpole, the tallest in Pakistan, now proudly stands at the site. Additional highlights include the History Gallery Museum, the Green VIP Lounge and White Lounge, providing dignitaries and guests with modern, comfortable viewing spaces. Security and technology enhancements have been central to the project's vision. The project was led by Project Manager Mr. Zulfiqar Ali Tariq, along with the architects from NESPAK's Architecture and Planning (A&P) Division, Lahore whose vision, creativity, and precision brought this iconic national project to life.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has signed a contract with NESPAK for the construction of a new state-of-the-art enclosure at the National Stadium, Karachi. The project, estimated to cost Rs. 4 billion, aims to enhance the stadium's capacity and amenities in line with international standards. The upgraded facility will feature modern seating arrangements, VIP boxes, media areas, and improved spectator accessibility—further strengthening Pakistan's sports infrastructure.

NESPAK Islamabad has signed a design agreement with the Pakistan Navy Welfare Housing Scheme (PNWHS) for town planning, design of flats, and associated engineering services for the development of sectors 5 to 8 at Bin Qasim, Karachi. The project aims to provide quality housing solutions for workmen and sailors through the development of modern high-rise apartment buildings. The scope of work includes architectural and engineering services for the design of apartment buildings and town planning and engineering services for development works. A series of meetings and technical presentations were held at Naval Headquarters, Islamabad, as well as at NESPAK Islamabad Office to discuss design concepts and development strategies. Subsequently, a NESPAK team visited the project site on September 17–18, 2025, to review on-ground conditions and project requirements. The NESPAK team comprised Mr. Muhammad Zafar Aman, General Manager / Head, Islamabad Office; Mr. Muhammad Salman, Chief Infrastructure Engineer; Mr. Muhammad Ali, Project Manager / Principal Engineer.
