NESPAK started its operations when the word "Architect" was alien to people in Pakistan and only a few professionals were acting as architects in the field. To give a boost to the architecture scene in a nascent country like Pakistan, its architecture and planning section was set up two years after NESPAK was established in 1973.
NESPAK supports agricultural development through integrated expertise in water management, agronomy, command-area development and natural resources. Its specialists guide projects from feasibility and planning through implementation, monitoring and farmer training, improving productivity while using land and water responsibly.
In the Building Services Sector, NESPAK has been providing engineering consultancy services both in Pakistan and abroad since 1975, a couple of years after its establishment. NESPAK has established its New Ventures setup at Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad. The Company offers consulting services in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and State of Qatar through its overseas offices. The Building Services Sector provides specialty input on mega projects related to energy, transportation, health, education, environment and recreation.
In the Energy Sector, NESPAK has rendered invaluable consultancy services for various projects in Pakistan and abroad. To date, NESPAK has acquired a total of 680 projects in Pakistan and foreign countries, costing Rs. 9,501 billion. As many as 607 projects have been completed while the number of active projects stands at 73.

The Geographical Information System (GIS) is a framework to collect, store, manage, manipulate, analyse and visualise spatial data. NESPAK is the pioneer in the GIS Sector in Pakistan, with more than 60 projects undertaken for local and international clients in addition to in-house services for the Company.
NESPAK has not lagged behind in the Industrial Sector in terms of performance and progress. In the Industrial Sector, NESPAK has provided professional services for more than 300 projects relating to heavy, medium and light engineering industries including steel mills, cement factories, automobile manufacturing units, process plants, seed processing pants, rice cleaning mills, fisheries, fruit and vegetable processing plants, marine terminals, etc. in Pakistan. The Company has also carried out industry-related projects in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Tanzania and the United Arab Emirates.
NESPAK, like other businesses, jumped on the Information Technology bandwagon keeping in view the modern trends to serve its internal/external clients and has quickly adapted to the latest web-based cutting edge technologies. In the IT and Software Engineering Sector, NESPAK has so far undertaken 40 projects out of which 37 have been completed.
In the Public Health Engineering Sector, NESPAK professionals are well versed with modern design technologies and have the capability to transform such technologies according to the socio-economic conditions of the country/area for which problems are to be addressed. The multi-disciplinary specialty groups are capable of providing consultancy services of international standard. NESPAK has secured more than 300 projects in this Sector in Pakistan and abroad costing more than US$ 8.118 billion.

In Water Resources Development and Dam Engineering Sector, NESPAK provides complete spectrum of consultancy services for projects related to harnessing and use of water for agriculture, hydropower generation and environment. The services provided for the Sector cover all aspects from conceiving an idea to completion of a project, including master planning, pre-feasibility and feasibility studies, project planning, physical and simulation model studies, software development and applications, detailed designs, specifications and tender documents, construction supervision and contract management, preparation of operation & maintenance manuals, performance and benefit monitoring, periodic inspections of large projects .
